The city of Eagan, Minnesota has 56 parks spread over 1,370 acres of land. Located at 4425 Sandstone Dr or 4440 Nicols Rd Eagan, MN 55122 is the outdoor space known as Rahn Park. Rahn Park is attached to Rahn Elementary School and has athletic fields on the premises. You can play baseball, lacrosse, soccer, and even have a makeshift football game if you would like at Eagan’s Rahn Park. There are also tennis and basketball courts as well.
Rahn Park also offers walking trails with some rolling hills throughout the area. There are kids play areas or playgrounds as well. The hills make for good sledding in the winter and a good cardio workout in summer. In the wintertime, there is an outdoor ice rink for old-fashioned “pond hockey” action. The rink is the home of outdoor tournaments throughout the season too.
Rahn Park has two outdoor ice rinks, the East and West which host leagues and tournaments for the Eagan Youth Hockey Association. They have several divisions and age groups that play at Rahn’s outdoor rinks. Like the Mite A Red Wings and Bruins, or the Squirt B Eagan Wildcats and the Girls 15 and under Eagan Wildcats.
Rahn park provides a home away from home so to speak for the boys and girls of the Eagan Youth Hockey Leagues. It also creates a lot of unique memories for the kids because there is nothing quite like playing hockey outdoors, it’s definitely a special feeling.
One of the nice things about Rahn Park in Eagan, MN is that during the weekend it never gets too busy, so you can enjoy some peace and quiet while being at ease with nature.
