The Minnesota State Fair is the largest state fair per capita in the United State of America. The State Fairgrounds are located at 1265 Snelling Ave. N. St. Paul, MN 55108. The State Fair averages about 150,000 people in attendance per day.
The Minnesota State Fair is an action-packed, food indulging, 12-day funfest for the entire family. Below are just some of the exciting events and adventures you can embark on.
State Fair Adventure Park
The Adventure Park at the State Fair located in St. Paul is exactly what it says it is, a fun filled adventure. You can try your luck at scaling the MN state fair Climbing Wall or go for a ride on the Giant Slide, while the Krazy Maze will have your head spinning. For some real stomach-turning thrills check out the Skyscraper, Slingshot, Space Tower, and the Skyride. Perhaps you’ll want to get wet on a hot and humid day? Then, head over to the River Raft Ride. Don’t forget to experience the Snake Zoo and Ye Old Mill too.
MN State Fair Special Events
The Minnesota State Fair sponsors special events throughout its duration. There is Thrifty Thursday on August 23rd which features half off admission while several vendors offer lower prices for the day. Governor’s Fire Prevention Day is on August 24th. On the 24th there are early bird specials for St. Paul residents at Mighty Midway and Kid Way rides and games until 1 p.m. They will also provide fire prevention lessons and “learning tables” throughout the day where you can learn life-saving skills by doing specific activities and watching interesting demonstrations. There will also be the official State Fair flag raising at the end of the evening.
On August 27th the MN State Fair honors Seniors, Kids, and Minnesota State Patrolman. On the 27th the Minnesota State Patrol, who are based in St. Paul, show off its tools which are used to keep your highways safe. Seniors and Kids will also receive reduced admission and discounts around the fair. Military Appreciation Day is August 28th at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Active and retired military and their immediate family receive reduced admission prices all day at the gate.
Minnesota State Fair Grandstand Shows
Located in St. Paul The Minnesota State Fair has a great grandstand lineup of musical artists in 2018. On August 24th you can catch Sugarland with special guests Frankie Ballard and Lindsay Ell. Tickets are $67 and $57 for this show.
Jason Mraz is coming to the Minnesota State Fair on August 28th to rock the house with Brett Dennen. Tickets for Mr. M.R.A.Z are $57 and $47.
Be sure to come out on August 27th for The Beach Boys at the State Fair. Tickets are $38.50 for the evening.

Minnesota State Fair Talent Contest
Each night at the St. Paul Minnesota State Fairgrounds a talent contest of various categories is held. The winner of each category will move on to perform in the final State Fair talent contest on Sunday, September 2nd. More than $20,000 in cash prizes and Jack’s Pizza packs will be doled out during the competition.
