Originally an eight-acre parcel of land Holz Farm Park was settled back in the 1870’s. Holz Farm bridges Eagan, Minnesota’s past and present together while displaying a picturesque beauty, and all of the elegance and charm one can handle.
The Holz Farm stayed in the Holz family until 1993 when Otto and Ella Holz passed away. Shortly after that, residents got wind that the property was to be bought and turned into high rise condos. That is when a grassroots campaign was spawned and along with some Eagan City Council Members the land was purchased and turned into a living history farm in 1995.
When visiting Holz Farm you can live as if you were back in the era of The Great Depression on through World War II. You’ll find a visit to the farm educational in which you can truly get a glimpse into what it was like to live and work on a farm in Eagan, MN a hundred years ago. There are also many events throughout the year over at Holz Farm Park in which you can participate and mingle with others in the Eagan community.
